Sunder Pachai's Biography & the Story of a King and a Criminal

Google is currently the world's most expensive brand by value. It was valued at $302 billion in 2019 and is by far the most expensive corporation in the world. At one time, the CEO of Google was named Sundar Pachai and he was the highest paid employee in the world. Google paid him three and a half crores a day. Sundar Pachai was from India and his father was a general engineer and his mother a stenographer. He was born and raised in a two-room flat. He attended an ordinary school and at the age of forty-two became the CEO of the world's largest corporation. This is an interesting story about how at this person reached this honor and height. There are two events behind this story.

The first episode is related to Sundar Pachai's interview in front of the Google board. He appeared in front of the Google board in July 2015 for an interview. Google's board was the board of the world's most intelligent and successful people. When Sundar Pachai appeared on Google's board, and the board asked him only one question and that question was, "What was the biggest failure of your life and how did you get out of it?" Sundar Pachai gave a very interesting answer. "My biggest failure was hard work," he said. He said, "I was born into a poor family and we lived in a two-room flat. There was a tap outside the house and we fetched water from there. Both my mother and my father worked hard and then our bread would be enough for two times. This poverty had made me a hard worker and the hard working people do not trust anyone in the­ world. These people do everything from flying a plane to washing clothes with their own hands. This lack of faith and straw hinders their success. "

Before I go any further, let me tell you that progress does not come from hard work. People and elders who tell you, "Work hard and you will prosper." So let me make it clear to you today that, "They tell you wrong, they are lying to you, they don't even know it." You must have heard from childhood that the fruit of hard work is sweet, so let me tell you today, "This is as good as far as one fruit is considered but you can't make a big garden through your own hard work by planting a lot of trees, because you need a talented team to made a big garden by planting a lot of trees, you can't plant a lot of fruit trees without a team neither you can make a huge orchard.”

If you just want to be a shopkeeper or a clerk keep working hard you will become a successful clerk or a successful shopkeeper but if you want to be the CEO of a big company or build your own huge empire, you want to set up a big company or factory, if you want to build a huge brand then you need a very talented team. You can never be succeed without your team.

Sundar Pachai told the board, "I lost the ability to make a team because of my hard work habit and it was the worst failure of my life and then I overcame that failure. I started getting people to work instead of working myself. I started trusting people, so I started giving others a chance to move on until I was called Sundar Pachai, the team builder. Today I do only my personal work with my hands and I take all the office work from all my colleagues and my team. That's the decent thing I have due to which I am considered as successful person." The board applauded Sundar Pachai's response and at the age of 42, Sundar Pachai became the CEO of Google, the world's largest corporation, and became the world's highest paid person in just three years.

This proves that it is not your hard work that determines your success but how much you can get other people to do it. This ability makes you successful. The second episode of Sundar Pachai's success is even more interesting. But before I move on towards it, I want to tell you a fact that there are two kinds of success, one is success and the other is success. If you want to be a good artist, if you want to be a good lawyer, if you want to be a good officer, if you want to be a good tailor, welder, architect, driver professor or a good cook then such success is called an individual success. The harder you work for it, the more successful you will be.

But if you want to be a captain, if you want to be a boss, if you want to be the owner of a huge factory, if you want to be a restaurant.­ If you want to open a big boutique business, if you want to open a big school or college or university or any institution then this success is called as team success. For team success you merely have to become an expert in just one skill and that skill is to be an expert in team building. If you learn to build a team, you will become Bill Gates or Steve Jobs or Jeff Bezos, Alan Musk or Dhruva Ambani.

Now I come to the second incident of Sundar Pachai. Sundar Pachai was sitting in a restaurant eating. It was an elite class five star restaurant. The restaurant was full of people when suddenly a cockroach came and flew and sat on the coat of a beautiful lady. At this the woman became frightened and got up and started screaming. Panic spread in the restaurant and people left the food and started looking at the woman. The cockroach also got scared and he flew away from the first lady's coat and sat on the second lady's clothes. The other woman also jumped up and started screaming and panic spread throughout the restaurant. A waiter was watching the whole scene and he ran to help them. When the waiter approached the lady, the cockroach took another flight and sat down next to the waiter's pocket. Sundar Pachai was also watching the whole affair, he skipped the meal and gave all his attention to the cockroach, the waiter and the screaming women. Sundar Pachai saw that as soon as the cockroach sat on the waiter's pocket, the waiter stopped breathing and the cockroach stood on the waiter's pocket. The waiter noticed the cockroach's movements with his squinting eyes and then he pulled a tissue paper out of his pocket by standing still, grabbed the cockroach and took it out of the restaurant. Sundar Pachai learned a great lesson from this incident and from this waiter.

Sundar Pachai said, "I saw that the cockroach was the same for both the woman and the waiter, but the way they dealt with the cockroach was different. The women saw the cockroach on their clothes and jumped but waiter instead of screaming noticed thoroughly the movement of the cockroach on his clothes and then, seeing the opportunity, grabbed it and threw it out. I saw and guessed the attitudes of both of them and I found out, Women started reacting when they saw a cockroach, while the waiter responded when he saw a cockroach," Sundar Pachai further said, "All the problems in the world are be like this cockroach, These problems are the same for everyone but most of us react to these problems and create fear and panic in the environment while very few people respond to these problems and solve them.”

Similarly, if we want to be successful in life, we have to accept that any difficult task such as, traffic, inflation, pollution, government, government policies, mother-in-law, children, neighbors, jobs, etc., all are not the really problems. The only problem is that either we react or response to them. Let me tell you the difference between reaction and response before moving on. Reaction is sudden and unpredictable action while response is post-calculation action, so if you want to be successful in life you must should take some time and think many times before taking any decision.

 

You should not be afraid of problems and difficulties because all these things are also a part of life. If there is a place in this whole planet, where there is no problem and no problem, then there is only one place and that is the graveyard. You can go to the cemetery and see that no matter how expensive electricity, gas, water and petrol are, graves don't matter. If cars become expensive, traffic doubles or triple, taxes rise, the city's entire sewerage line is blocked, water comes out of the gutters, vegetables, meat or eggs become expensive, or Pakistan cricket matches are lost, these all things are not a matter of trouble who are living in to graves or corpses. The cemetery is the only place in the world where a friend never quarrels with another friend, where a relative never quarrels with another relative, or where a man never quarrels with another man infect there is no quarrel at all.

Here, a person will never be jealous of another person, but as long as a person is alive, a person is jealous and will continue to be jealous, will continue to challenge each other, things will continue to be expensive, theft will continue to happen, Taxes will continue to fall, bad governments will continue to come and so will gas, petrol, vegetables, fruits and vegetables will continue to be expensive, you will continue to study sick in life, you will continue to suffer injuries and losses in life. A king sentenced a criminal to death. After being convicted, the humble man stood before the king with his hands tied.

The king thought, "Now it will apologize in punishment like other criminals."

So the king immediately said to the culprit, "This punishment of yours is final so you will not get any concession."

The culprit murmured to the king, "I am not apologizing to you, I just want to tell you that you are not only killing me but you are also killing such an art with me, Only I know in this whole world.”

 The king asked in surprise, "Sir, what kind of art is that?"

The culprit said, "King, I am the only person in the world who can teach a horse to fly, so this art will also disappear with me."

The king asked again in surprise, "Can you really teach a horse to fly?"

The culprit said, "You try and see, you will be amazed at my abilities."

The king asked, "In how many days can you teach a horse to fly?"

The culprit said, "King it takes me two years."

The king ordered his minister, "Give him my horse for two years and if he cannot teach the horse to fly in two years, then blow his neck."

The minister gave king's horse to the culprit for two years. When the culprit returned to the prison, the other convicts in the prison told him," You are a fool, you know that you would not be able to make the horse fly, then why did you need to take the risk?"

The culprit laughed and replied," The first thing is that I got two years, in those two years, the king may die or I may die or the horse may actually learn to fly. "
